Carl has studied Applied Social Science (BA hons), International Conflict Analysis (MA) and holds a PhD in Politics. In his thesis he applied conflict analysis to compare cases of ethno-nationalist/separatist terrorism. He has appeared on BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Look North.
